HOTEL NEWS

LOCAL STAYS AND GETAWAYS ACROSS AUSTRALIA

NSW
While some hotels remained open
for the duration of Covid-19, several
boutique operations closed their
doors temporarily. Now, following
maintenance and refurbishment,
Halcyon House in Cabarita Beach
is ready to welcome back guests.
Its in-house restaurant Paper Daisy
will be limited exclusively to hotel
guests for breakfast and lunch during
this period of transition. On the
South Coast, Bangalay Luxury Villas
has also reopened. Located on
Seven Mile Beach, the sophisticated
dwellings are located an easy two
hour-drive from Sydney.

VIC
Birregurra’s Brae is back open and
ushering in guests to their restaurant
and six luxury suites. From 3 July,
reservations for both can be made
up to two months in advance
to-the-day, with bookings released
at 9am daily. The Mornington
Peninsula’s Jackalope Hotel is also
resuming operations with a minimal
opening schedule, starting with a
two-night package (Friday through
to Sunday) available to book. Its Rare
Hare Wine & Food Store restaurant
will be open to the public, while
Doot Doot Doot and Flaggerdoot
will open to hotel guests only.

AUSTRALIA-WIDE
In the wake of Covid-19, Stayz has
updated its search filters to enable
users to source holiday homes with
more flexible cancellation policies.
Meanwhile, Marriott International
has released comprehensive new
initiatives with an emphasis on
enhanced cleanliness, hygiene
technology and social distancing,
which include contactless check-in
and mobile dining offerings.
