Southern Smoke’s Emergency Relief Fund provides fi nancial assistance to food and beverage
industry professionals in crisis. As of mid-May 2020, this organization has granted more than
$1.4 million to those aff ected by COVID-19. Southern Smoke has distributed more than $3.1 million—
both directly to people in need via the Emergency Relief Fund and to organizations that represent
the needs of people in our industry. As Southern Smoke co-founder and chef Chris Shepherd says,
Southern Smoke was created to “take care of our own.”

Initiative: LG teamed up with The Allstate Foundation
to make Inner Explorer free to everyone during the
COVID crisis, part of LG’s Experience Happiness
signature cause social impact program.
Specifi cally designed to reduce stress and foster
resiliency, this at-home app brings Inner Explorer’s
award-winning program to families.

Purina is supporting pet shelters and pet owners in need
across the country in partnership with amazing nonprofi t
organizations like Petfi nder Foundation, GreaterGood.org
and RedRover. Together with these partners and others,
Purina is providing essentials like nutritious pet food,
treats and litter and much-needed fi nancial resources to
bring and keep pets and people together.


As part of Unilever’s United for America initiative,
Hellmann’s launched a Food Relief Fund that
will provide $1 million to feed frontline workers
and people in need in New York City, Hellmann’s
birthplace. To start, Hellmann’s Food Relief Fund
provided $500,000 worth of meals through
a partnership with Grubhub.

With deep roots in the food and wine industry, Coravin
was anxious to support its partners who have been
devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a multi-
pronged approach, the company has donated more
than $50,000 to the JBF Food and Beverage Industry
Relief Fund in support of its mission to provide critical
fi nancial support to independent restaurants.
