Mustard Dressing

Mustard sauce—South Carolina’s go-to
sauce for ’cue—gets its signature flavor
from a surprisingly humble ingredient:
classic yellow mustard. Bolstered by
honey, apple cider vinegar, and a dash
of chile powder, this dressing’s sharp
flavor will wake up any salad.
1 / 4 cup yellow mustard
3 Tbsp. grapeseed oil
2 Tbsp. honey
11 / 2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp. water
1 / 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 small garlic clove, finely grated
(about^1 / 4 tsp.)
1 / 8 tsp. chipotle chile powder or
cayenne pepper
Kosher salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Whisk together mustard, grapeseed oil,
honey, apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon
water, Worcestershire, garlic, and chile
powder in a medium bowl; season with
salt and pepper to taste.
MAKE AHEAD Dressing can be stored in
an airtight container in refrigerator up to

Barbecue Sauce Dressing

fame, this easy mayonnaise-based
dressing comes together in just min-
utes. Apple cider vinegar gives a nice
bite, while garlic and onion powders
lend the flavor of ranch but with a tangy
twist.
2 / 3 cup mayonnaise (preferably
Duke’s)
1 / 4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tsp. light brown sugar
3 / 4 tsp. coarsely ground black pepper
1 / 2 tsp. kosher salt
1 / 4 tsp. garlic powder
1 / 4 tsp. onion powder
Whisk together all ingredients in a
medium bowl. Cover and chill 30
minutes.
