Boasting a passion for wine that spans fi ve
generations, Marqués de Cáceres brings the
very essence of Spain’s classic wine regions to
your table.

Rioja
In North-Central Spain, tucked between the Cantabrian
Mountains and the Ebro River, the expansive Rioja wine
region is renowned for its vibrant red wines produced
predominantly from Tempranillo grapes. In 1970, Marqués
de Cáceres was founded here by Enrique Forner, quickly
becoming the leader in Rioja’s renaissance. By introducing
French winemaking techniques and taking advantage of the
region’s chalky clay soil and ideal microclimate, the winery has
established itself as the face of modern Rioja. It now boasts an
impressive range of wines recognized in over 120 countries—
including Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva, as well as the
Generación MC made only in excellent vintages.

Rueda
About 100 miles north of Madrid, on the high plains south
of Valladolid, the Rueda wine region is the home of Spain’s
indigenous white grape, Verdejo. In 2014, Marqués de
Cáceres began a new chapter in the winery’s history with
the opening of a new bodega in the heart of the Rueda
region. Here, the winery produces white wines, both single
variety and carefully crafted blends, all achieving prestige
on an international scale. With an eye on innovation while
honoring tradition, examples of Marqués de Cáceres white
wines include the classic Spanish Verdejo, a staple in the
Marqués de Cáceres portfolio, and the new Sauvignon Blanc
released this year.

Ribera del Duero
To the east of the Rueda region, along the banks of the
Duero River, the Ribera del Duero wine region is acclaimed
for producing Tempranillo, Spain’s signature grape. In 2019,
Marqués de Cáceres expanded its winemaking properties
by acquiring Finca La Capilla, an esteemed bodega that
uses state-of-the-art technology and precise hand selection
of grapes. Today, the Forner family brings its winemaking
experience, developed in its Bordeaux Grand Cru Classé
chateaux as well as its Rueda and Rioja wineries, to
Ribera del Duero. Finca La Capilla’s award-winning
wines, Crianza and Vendimia Seleccionada, represent the
very best characteristics of the Ribera region.
