thinkofwhatimageswillconveytheideaorfeelingthey
have.Thesamegoesfortattooplacement.Someclients
willhaveaspecificideaforlocationinmind,othersmay
ask for guidance.
It isimportantfor youto explain toclients what will
workcompositionallyandwhatwillnot.Youmighthave
a clientwho wantstoo many different imagesin one
design,andyou’llneedtoexplainhowthatcluttersthe
compositionandmakesithardto“read.”Othertimesa
clientwillwantanimageonanareaofthebodythatjust
isn’tsuitablefortheshapeofthatimage.Youneedtobe
able toguide clients in theirdecision-making. Part of
yourjobasthedesigneristoexplain whatwillwork,
what won’t, and why. Generally, clients will be very
receptivetoyourideasiftheyknowtherationalebehind
them.Theyhavecometoyou,atleastinpart,because
they trust your design sense. Keep that trust!
