monthly appointments in advance with the client to
encouragethemtocomebackandgetthepiecefinished.
It’sveryfrustratingifaclientonlyshowsuponceayear,
orevenless,togettheirtattooworkedon.Bythenyou’ll
have lost interest in the piece, and may even be
approaching thesubject in a different way, making it
very difficult to complete.


Toavoidthesamepitfallofnevercompletingapainting,
applythesameprinciplebutworkonthepaintingatleast
weekly to keep the flow going.


OVER DETAILING


Resist theurgeto over detailyourartwork, especially
largepieces,justbecauseyouhavethespacetodoso.It
canbe very advantageous to draw things smaller and
thenblowthemuptoactualsizetohelpavoidthis. If
everything is super detailed, it will clutter up the
compositionand makeithardto read,meaning tosee
everythingthatisgoingon.Overdetailingisworsethan
alackofdetail.Leavingthebackgroundandsecondary
partsofyourartmoreplainmakesforamuchclearer
picture or tattoo.
