manufacturing and partnering with local
carriers to offer exclusive discounts, it appears
that the tide is finally turning and Apple is
making headway.


THE FUTURE OF THE iPHONE


Whatever your reason for choosing an iPhone
above a rival smartphone brand, it’s clear that
the future looks bright. But one area where
Apple has enjoyed unexpected success in
the past year is with its new low-cost variant,
the iPhone SE. First announced and released
back in 2016 alongside the higher-end iPhone
6S and 6S Plus, Apple refreshed the product
at the start of the coronavirus pandemic in
what some said was “mysterious coincidence,”
offering consumers the chance to tap into the
iOS ecosystem without breaking the bank.
According to a new report from Consumer
Intelligence Research Partners, the iPhone SE
accounted for 22% of all iPhone sales in the
United States during the third quarter of 2020,
which has helped Apple realize a new market
and appeal to those in low and medium-
income brackets.


Apple reportedly struggled to keep up with the
demand for the iPhone SE earlier in the year
and is now planning to launch a new variant
this April, according to Japan’s MacOtakara.
The next affordable iPhone will sport the same
$399 price tag in the United States and could
even be sold as a cheaper 4G version of the
