This technique is a great way to cast off your stitches and seam two
pieces of knitting together in one fell swoop, ensuring that they line
up perfectly. As the name suggests, you’ll be using three needles to
do this. Firstly, transfer your stitches onto two needles and hold them
parallel with the right sides of your work facing each other in your
left hand. Then take your third needle and knit into the first stitch on
the front needle and through to the first stitch on the back needle.
Knit them both together and slip them off at the same time. Do the
same with the second stitch on the front and back needles. Then
cast off a stitch by inserting a left-hand needle into the first worked
stitch and lifting it up and over the other worked stitch and off the
needle. Repeat the process until all the stitches have been cast off.
