The Maryland National Guard does not
deploy anyhow until January 7, until
Pentagon orders.

“+omeland Security sending addition-
al federal agents to 8 S Capitol to help
Tuell violence.” A spokesperson told the
AP that '+S ofɿcers from the )ederal
Protective Service and 8 .S. Secret Service
agents are being sent to the scene...

Kayleigh Mc(nany tweets “At Presi-
dent #real'onaldTrumpŠs direction, the
National *uard is on the way along with
other federal protective services. We
reiterate President TrumpŠs call against
violence and to remain peaceful.”

Rosen makes a statement “The violence at
our NationŠs Capitol Building is an intoler-
able attack on a fundamental institution
of our democracy. )rom the outset, the
'epartment of -ustice has been working in
close coordination with the Capitol Police
and federal partners from the Interior
'epartment, the 'epartment of +ome-
land Security, and the National *uard, as
well as the Metropolitan Police and other
local authorities. (arlier this afternoon, the
'epartment of -ustice sent hundreds of
federal law enforcement ofɿcers and agents
from the )BI, AT) and the 8 .S. Marshals
Service to assist the Capitol Police in
addressing this unacceptable situation, and
we intend to enforce the laws of our land.”

on Capitol Hill until about an hour later.

ceived a “frantic call” from +ouse Majority
/eader Rep. Steny +oyer '-M' urging
him to deploy Maryland National *uard
troops. +ogan said he was “repeatedly” told
that he lacked the authority to deploy his
stateŠs National *uard into the 'istrict.
