STEP FIVE: Open the Brush
Settings panel (Window>Brush
Settings), and apply the follow-
ing settings:
- Under Brush Tip Shape
a. Size: Around 1,200 px
b. Spacing: 25–35% - Under Shape Dynamics
a. Size Jitter: 33%, Control
set to Off
b. Angle Jitter: 50%,
Control set to Off - Under Scattering
a. Scatter: 50%, Control
set to Off
b. Both Axes: Checked on - Lock both the Shape
Dynamics and Scattering
settings by clicking their
Lock icons. - Options Bar
a. Click on Load the Brush
After Each Stroke icon
(it’s the brush with an
arrow pointing up)
b. Preset: Dry, Heavy Load
c. Flow: 50%
All of these are starting
points only and should be
adjusted as you get a feel for
creating brushes.
Note: The reason for locking
settings is to keep them in
place while creating additional
brushes; be sure to disable
them when you’re done!
