Member Monday
Need a little inspiration to battle those Monday-morning
blues? That’s what we thought, so that’s why we have
Member Monday on our Insider blog every, well, Monday.
Each installment features a different KelbyOne member,
highlighting his or her work and career as a creative.
If you haven’t been following Member Monday, don’t
worry, just click here, and you can check out a bunch
of featured members from the past few years. You could
even view one every day of the week so you never run
out of inspiration (well, eventually you’ll hit that original
Member Monday post, and then you’ll be back to waiting
for Monday to roll around again).
And we already hear you asking, “How can I be
featured on Member Monday?” Well, just click here, fill
out the submission form, which includes a link to your
portfolio, and who knows, it could be you inspiring a
bunch of KelbyOne members on some future Monday
morning. Oh, and we also use that submission form to
consider people for the “Artist Spotlight” section here in
the magazine (just check out the next three pages), and
even for the cover of the magazine!minutes. And as we like to say, “The KelbyOne Community
is one of the friendliest places on earth!”
But wait! It gets even better. Two of our Commu-
nity Leaders, Fernando Santos (aka Chicky Nando) and
Ross “Doc” Chevalier, have joined forces to bring us
CommunityLIVE!, a weekly Zoom meeting for anyone in
the Community who wants to participate. It’s a place to
meet other members “face-to-face,” have casual conver-
sations, watch short presentations, and even enjoy the
company of special guests. We’ve already had more than
30 meetings that have included topics on color grading,
flower photography, Lightroom Q&As, camera bags,
tripods, photo critiques, and so much more! There was
even a recent meeting where members gave us ideas
and suggestions on how to improve every aspect of their
KelbyOne membership. The meetings usually take place
on Thursday at 5 p.m. EST, but you can click here to see
when the next meeting is scheduled.
But wait! It gets even better (I know I said that already
but I couldn’t help myself). All CommunityLIVE! sessions
are recorded so you can go back and watch them anytime
you like. Just visit the CommunityLIVE! page, click on
the episode you wish to watch, and you’ll find a link and
access password in the original post where you can
watch a replay of that episode.
You’re free to join upcoming meetings simply as a
viewer, but if you’re looking to connect via webcam and
audio to be part of the conversation, here are some
tips from our very own Erik Kuna for making it a great
experience for all involved: Wear headphones to block
out any background noise and prevent feedback loops,
go somewhere without a lot of background noise, mute
yourself when you’re not talking, steady your device to
prevent shaky video, and most importantly, have fun!
