Like anything else, though, the Photoshop team
has come out with an algorithm that yields a
better-looking image. Adobe is transitioning
this feature to Export As (File>Export >Export
As) instead.
Since there are a lot of people who depend on
Save for Web, and Export As has been a work in
progress, Save for Web gets the “Legacy” tag. This
means that you should probably start getting used
to Export As, since the future of Save for Web isn’t
guaranteed. I’ve found that, while Save for Web
still makes files a little smaller, Export As definitely
makes sharper, better-looking images.

The advantage is that you can access the
document on any device running Photoshop, such
as a home, work, or school computer, as well as
an iPad running Photoshop. The disadvantage is
that it does take up some of your cloud storage
space, and if you want to access this image on
the go, you’d need an Internet connection long
enough to download the file into Photoshop to work
on it. If your workflow doesn’t require accessing
your Photoshop work on multiple devices, then
it’s probably best for now to stick to saving your
files locally as you always did.

Q Why does Save for
Web have the word
“Legacy” in it now?
A Save for Web has been
a longtime favorite of
mine and I’ve used
it for years. It’s awe-
some for downsizing
graphics to post to the
web or social media.

Q Is there a faster way of getting
multiple images into a Creative
Cloud library than opening each
image one by one and adding them?
A Creative Cloud libraries are an awesome way
to keep a collection of assets handy that you
use over and over again. They’re accessible in
all of Adobe’s main desktop applications and
most of the mobile applications too. Sounds great,
