Special

occasions

I thought you would like to

see my latest projects from

issue 94 of Cross

Stitch Gold. The

Home Sweet Home

card is for my very

good neighbours

who are moving,

and I wanted to do

something special for

them. The Sweet Baby

card is for my friend’s

daughter who is expecting her first

child and it’s a girl, hence the pink

surround. I hope you like them.

Joyce Williams, Buckley

Zeena: They’re lovely, Joyce. I’m

so pleased that you’re still finding

charts from our old issues to stitch.

Cherry picked

This is my stitched piece featuring

cherry blossoms with butterfly and birds,

embellished with Mill Hill seed beads and

sequins. The pattern was from issue 148

and designed by Faby Reilly. Although

it was for a cushion

cover, I decided to

frame it as I was

afraid that the

beads and sequins

would be snagged

when the cushion

is hugged. I used

double matte

board so that

the beads are

not touched by the glass.

Monica Chong, by email

Zeena: This looks stunning as a picture, Monica

  • you’ve done such a great job with the framing.

Spring stitch

Looking through old issues, I found this

wonderful project by Angela Poole in issue

145 and I couldn’t resist – I stitched it in three

days! Now, in my bedroom, it is officially

springtime – thanks Cross Stitch Gold.

Camilla Maffiuletti, Italy

Zeena: How fresh and pretty they look, Camilla.

I’m sure your bedroom is so relaxing now.

Crazy for

coffee

I wanted to share with you

my finished coffee pot

design from issue 146 of

Cross Stitch Gold. As soon

as I saw this design from

Emma Congdon I knew it

was something I’d enjoy

stitching. I have just gifted

it to my friend for her

birthday – I thought the

70s design was appropriate

as we were both born in

the mid 70s!

Yaina Davies, by email

Zeena: What a fabulous

finish, Yaina – I love the

coffee-coloured frame

you’ve chosen. Thanks for

sharing it with us!
