On May 15, after sitting
dormant for nearly 20 years,
the Eero Saarinen–designed
TWA terminal at New York’s
JFK International Airport
reopened as the TWA Hotel.
JFK’s only airport hotel
features 512 ultra-quiet
guestrooms, the Paris Café
by celebrated chef Jean
Georges, 50,000 square feet
of event space, a rooftop pool
and observation deck, and
a 10,000-square-foot fitness
center. The hotel also plans
to host museum exhibitions
on TWA, the jet age and
mid-century modern design,
curated by the New-York
Historical Society.
