“Clay Decker at East Side Ink did my
fi rst tattoo back when tattooing was still
illegal in New York City. I was 15 and got
a tribal sun on my lower back. Typical!
It’s since been covered up by my back
piece. The piece is a kitsune, a Japanese
mythological fox. It’s my entire back. I
started it in the fall of 2006. It’s being
done by Jason Kundell at Seventh Son
Tattoo, in San Francisco. My sleeve is a
foo dog and cherry blossoms, by Andre
Malcolm in New York City. I really like
how my sleeve and my back piece fl ow
together. I’ve actually been known to fall
asleep while getting tattooed. Not that it
doesn’t hurt; I can just get myself into a
really relaxed state.”inked
