Inked - (03)March 2021

(Comicgek) #1

Hey there,

Welcome to the 2021 Inked Lifestyle Issue. I’ll let you in on a
little editorial secret here, this is my favorite issue of the year.
As we put this issue together there is a freedom that just
doesn’t exist with the other themed issues of the year. The
topic of lifestyle is all-encompassing. It doesn’t matter what
you do or where you’re from, if you’ve got ink under your skin
you’re one of us.

The issue you’re holding in your hands right now is a grab
bag. In the following pages you’ll find athletes, musicians,
influencers, actors, breathing gurus and even a bonafide
forensic pathologist. Each with a fascinating story to tell and
tattoos to share.

On the cover you’ll find the undefeated UFC Middleweight
Champion Israel Adesanya. Chuck Mindenhall sat down
with the fighter known as “The Last Stylebender” to discuss
his upcoming fight with Jan Bachowicz, his surprisingly
nerdy tattoos and more. The brash champion doesn’t
mince words when talking about his dominance of the
middleweight division—”That’s my division, I run that shit.”

In early December I had the chance to spend a day with
former USMNT goalkeeper and American soccer legend
Tim Howard. We talked all things footie, his new role as an
analyst for NBCSN and how his life was forever changed by
Everton Football Club.

At this point it may be hard to remember, but there was
once a time when tattoo artists were never on TV. Tatu Baby
may have fallen short of the title during her season of “Ink
Master,” but a star was born. We spoke to the hardworking
artist about all of her many hustles, both inside and outside
the tattoo shop.

We turned to Nick Fierro, our favorite chronicler of the
strange and unusual, to have a conversation with forensic
pathologist Nicole Angemi. The two discussed how Angemi
has taken her morbid fascination with how people meet
their end into one of the most popular, and most censored,
Instagram accounts.

This is just a small preview of what’s inside this issue. Turn
the page and start exploring the rest of our 2021 Lifestyle
Issue.
