Now that you’ve looked over the service description definitions and
maintenance tables, I want you to note something. Read again where it says,
Follow the severe schedule if any one of the following is true:
- Most trips are less than 5 to 10 miles (8 to 16 kilometers). This is particularly
important when outside temperatures are below freezing. - Most trips include extensive idling (such as frequent driving in stop-and-go
traffic). - The vehicle is operated in dusty areas frequently.
- The vehicle tows trailers or uses a carrier on top of the vehicle frequently.
- The vehicle is used for delivery service, police, taxi or other commercial
applications.
