Garages have tools to depressurize a fuel injection system. You can accomplish this at home by removing the
fuel pump relay, then turning the key repeatedly. The vehicle will not start, or will start only momentarily and
stall. Either way, you reduce the fuel system pressure.
This will not completely depressurize the fuel system or completely eliminate fuel leakage when fuel
lines are loosened or disconnected. Wrap a rag or shop towel around the connection to catch and
soak up any spilled fuel.
