ENGINE OIL FILTRATION
Don’t be skimpy when it comes to buying an oil filter. Always use a high-quality
oil filter when changing your oil. Cheap filters are made of poor quality filter
media that doesn’t screen out harmful and abrasive dirt from the oil. This dirt
courses through your engine and causes damage. Cheap filters usually omit
critical aspects of OEM filter design like check valves, which are used to prevent
oil from draining out of the filter when the engine is not running. When the oil is
allowed to drain out of the filter, the engine loses its prime, which results in dry
startup. This condition damages bearings and metal mating surfaces, causing
engine failure over time. Always select a high-quality OEM comparable oil filter
when you change the oil.
