The next    stroke  in  the cycle   is  the compression stroke. The air-fuel    mixture fed into    the combustion  chamber
becomes much    more    volatile    and explosive   when    compressed  8   to  12  times   its size.   Piston  rings   and valves
must    tightly seal    the precious    air-fuel    mixture in  the combustion  chamber to  realize maximum efficiency.
