Tom,

Q What is the proper use of an electric buffer? I got one for Christmas from

my wife and want to use it on my 1969 Camaro.

Jason,

A First off, if it has two speed settings never, never use the high-speed

setting. This could result in paint damage. Set the buffer to low speed, apply
your wax to the buffing bonnet, and just lay the tool on the finish. Do not
apply heavy downward pressure to the buffer, as this will surely burn through
the paint. Just the weight of the tool is sufficient, all you have to do is guide
it across the area you want to apply or buff the wax on. The same instruction
goes for buffing the wax after it had dried on the paint: low-speed setting
with no downward pressure on the tool. Just guide it over the finish.
