Always follow the manufacturer’s suggested maintenance schedule. If you’re
not sure, err on the aggressive side and follow the severe maintenance
schedule. Then you know for sure that the engine is always operating with
fresh, clean oil and that you will get the maximum life out of it. For those of
us who want to keep our cars a long time, this approach saves us big bucks.
