JLAB JBUDS FRAMES
$50 (around £37), jlabaudio.com

Existing audio-equipped eyewear, says JLab,
has “the audio technology permanently
integrated in a way that is far from discreet”.
We’re not entirely sure that the saddlebags of
the JBuds Frames add much discretion to the
party, given that each 11.7g unit is pretty
chunky, but they are non-permanent at least.
Clip these on to whatever glasses you like, from
prescription frames to cycling sunnies, and
they’ll provide you with 16mm drivers, which
should fill your open ears with sound without
blocking out the world. They also promise 8+
hours’ playback on a two-hour charge and,
crucially, they come in at around a quarter of
the price of other glasses-with-sound products
like the Bose Alto. You might attract some
awkward questions, wearing them though.

T3 SAYS: No-worries personal listening, right
on your glasses.

SAMSUNG SMART MONITOR
From £229, samsung.com

The Samsung Smart Monitor, a Tizen-toting
desktop display, is designed to do just about
everything you could possibly want a screen to
do. It’s capable of acting as a casting device, so
you can send content from your phone straight
to the panel. It’s USB-C connected for both
power and data, so it’s simple and tidy to get
running with a laptop. You don’t even need a
PC connected, since both the FHD Smart
Monitor M5 and 4K Smart Monitor M
variations include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
connections, and can run Microsoft Office 365
right there on the monitor. And when you’re
done working, there’s all sorts of TV tech like
HDR10, adaptive brightness and an app store
to get you connected to streaming services like
Netflix. So we’d opt for the 4K variation.

T3 SAYS: Great for students, bedrooms, or
dodging work...
