LINKSYS VELOP AXE8400
Just when we had got used to Wi-Fi 6, along
comes Wi-Fi 6E, offering the same super-
fast speeds but even more channels for
devices to operate on – basically it means
less congestion and more devices online
simultaneously. The Linksys Velop series
has already been given a Wi-Fi 6E refresh
in the form of the A XE8400 model, another
mesh networking node that can banish dead
zones from your home and ensure wireless
speeds that are as fast as your broadband
provider will allow. Expect worldwide
availability later in the year.

SONY SRS-RA5000 AND
SRS-RA3000
The SRS-RA5000 and SRS-RA3000 are
spatial audio speakers, making use of Sony’s
emerging 360 Reality Audio format to give
the impression of full 3D sound from a
single speaker. These stylish and vaguely
futuristic-looking devices will pump out
LPPHUVLYHURRPĆOOLQJVRXQGIURPPXOWLSOH
sources, and where the 360 Reality Audio
standard isn’t supported, the speakers will
attempt to apply some clever algorithms to
whatever source you’re listening to.

LG 2021 ULTRAWIDE^
MONITOR
The new LG UltraWide monitor for 2021
is going to dominate pretty much any room
you put it in, thanks to its curved, 39.7-inch
Nano IPS LCD display panel, running at a
5K resolution. Creatives will appreciate that
98 percent of the DCI-P3 colour space is
covered, while there’s a decent maximum
refresh rate of 72Hz too. The appeal of
the monitor stretches to its connectivity
too – there are DisplayPort, HDMI, USB
and Thunderbolt 4 options, but we’re still
waiting for LG to tell us how much it costs.

GIGABYTE AORUS 17G
Gigabyte has updated its rather impressive
Aorus line of gaming laptops with the
latest RTX 30 series GPUs from Nvidia,
and the 17G is the top of the pile as far as
the available models go – with a 17.3-inch
1080p display running at a phenomenal
300Hz refresh rate, and a GeForce RTX
3080 graphics card with 16GB of video
R AM all of its own, this will outperform
plenty of gaming PC rigs, let alone gaming
laptops. You even get a full-sized mechanical
switch keyboard as well. It’ll cost you, but
it’s hard to beat this for raw power.
