ARES TESLA MODEL S
CONVERTIBLE
The Tesla Model S seems like it would be very hard to improve upon. After all, its upcoming Plaid
edition offers a 0-60mph of 1.99 seconds, a 200mph top speed and an estimated range of 390
miles. It also has an Einsteinian level of smarts: it can automatically change motorway lanes for you,
parallel park by itself and even respond to your summons. So how could you possibly add to the
experience of driving one? How about if it was converted to a two-door convertible? This bespoke
conversion by Italian design house Ares whipped off the Model S’s roof, rear doors and B pillar and
created space for a soft, retractable roof. The brand then reinforced the chassis and upgraded the
upholstery and seats with hand-stitched ice white leather with orange detailing. Unfortunately, this
was a custom project for a single client, meaning you might have to get busy with an angle grinder if
you want one of your own.
