The inner wheel bearing, previously packed with grease, is
installed on the spindle.
The brake drum and hub assembly is reinstalled, and the outer
wheel bearing put in place. The inner wheel bearing adjusting nut
is put in place and tightened until there is a binding while turning
the drum by hand. The nut is then backed off ^1 ⁄ 8 turn, and the
adjustment rechecked for binding. A new adjusting nut lock is then
installed, and bent over the inner adjusting nut. The outer wheel
bearing adjusting nut is then added. The axle shafts are then
reinstalled and torqued into place.
