Causes


The most common type of Scoliosis (Idiopathic scoliosis)
has no certain causes, it does seem to contain hereditary
elements due to the fact that scoliosis has a tendency to fall
in families. Less common types of Scoliosis can be a result
of conditions including cerebral palsy or muscular
dystrophy, birth defects, injuries, or infections of the spine.
The causes of adult scoliosis can be that they had a curve
as a child and it has gotten worse over the years or it can
be caused by a new condition that was resulted from either
osteoporosis or degenerative changes within the spine.


Symptoms


Signs of scoliosis include uneven shoulders, one shoulder
blade that looks more distinct than the other, one hip
higher than the other, irregular waist, leaning to one side,
and ribs sticking out on one side. Symptoms of scoliosis in
adults are back pain, bulging or deformity in the back, got
shorter in height, shortness of breath or excessive
exhaustion, and untimely stomach sensation of fullness.
