Scoliosis

(laeticia) #1

Improving core strength is
important as core muscles
support the spine. A stronger
core has a better ability for the
lower back and abdominal
musicals to be able to balance
and stabilize posture.

Sports not to play a lot:
trampolines, long-distance
running and swimming
competitively.

Don't lift and heavy objects
as it adds to the natural
gravity pull and can further
compress the spine.

Stretching is also very good
for the spine as stretching
helps lessen the pain and
discomfort of scoliosis.

Do’s and Don'ts for

Scoliosis

Change positions frequently
as standing or sitting too
long can stress the spine.

Do not sleep on the stomach as
it causes the thoracic spine to
become flattened, if one
dimension gets worse the
others follow.
