supplier for a different section) for better understanding
of the scope of engineering and supply. We also included
standard, detailed equipment data sheets which enabled
us to compare the system offered by various suppliers on
a common platform.
The tender was prepared and floated in November
2015 for two capacities initially, 5,500 TPD and 7,
TPD clinkerisation unit on a turnkey basis to all the major
equipment suppliers such as M/s KHD Humboldt Wedag
India Private Limited, M/s FLSmidth India Private Limited
and M/s Thyssenkrupp India Private Limited. Also, we
floated a tender for vertical mills for ‘raw mill’ and ‘coal
mill’ to M/s Gebr. Pfeiffer (India) Private Limited and M/s
Loesche India Private Limited; later in December 2015 we
included M/s LNV Technology Private Limited as an EP
supplier for the complete clinkerisation unit as well.
The initial offers were received in January 2016, several
discussions ensued after bid receipt for improvement of
equipment performance and its design, a lot of knowledge
sharing happened during the period between DCBL and
vendors. After detailed analysis, it was decided to go ahead
with the 7,200 TPD plant option and all vendors were
informed accordingly.
Our vision was “to install the best cement plant in
electrical and thermal energy efficiency along with sustainable
environmental measures in respect of global benchmarking”.
Accordingly, detailed discussions and an evaluation process
started for a 7,200 TPD plant with all suppliers.
