Dalmia DSP Success Story

(Project Pridr) #1

TECHNICAL PREPARATION 5

With the above vision and concept, we asked OEM’s
to offer a pyro process system with the following specific
features and selected accordingly:

• Kiln slope with 4.5% – first kiln in the world to have
4.5% slope
• Longest kiln (dry process) – to offer the highest L/D
ratio
• Kiln inlet to be enlarged with a flared inlet to reduce
the velocity at inlet chamber
• Maximum guaranteed capacity of 7,200 TPD for 5 m
diameter kiln
• Lowest pressure drop in pre-heater, on guaranteed
capacity with 350 mmwg at PH fan inlet.
• Bigger size pre-heater and pre-calciner considered for
efficient heat transfer for fuel-saving with volumetric
loading <1 TPD/m³ and <2 TPD/m³ respectively
• Bigger size pre-calciner (calciner + exit duct) with 17-
20 sec retention time
• Additional hysil insulation thickness (100 mm average)
in pre-heater cyclones and calciner
• Aluminization and heat resistance painting shall be
done in complete pre-heater, pre-calciner, kiln, and
tertiary air duct in external as well as internal surfaces
to reduce the heat losses
• By aluminizing internal and external surface of
complete pre-heater along with extra hysil insulation
which shall be first in the world and as a result we
expect to save 30% radiation heat losses
