overloading due to the bigger size of the clinker ball and also
has lower maintenance due to improved wear component.
It was discussed to place the HRB at an intermediate
position for better WHRS potential, but seeing the overall
cost impact due to an increase in height of kiln and pre-
heater we have not considered an intermediate HRB. Since
the petcoke fired clinker was already of lower grain size, so
the potential of heat release in case of intermediate HRB
would be less.


Low NOX Burner


We had a huge round of discussions among suppliers on
the burner because it is very important equipment for the
cement plant; few of the points of major importance are
listed below and were discussed in detail with all suppliers:



  1. Complete burning of the calcined raw meal inside
    kiln with optimized flame momentum so that clinker
    quality can be better with minimum free lime

  2. Specific fuel and specific power consumption of the
    pyro system is also related to burner effectiveness

  3. NOX generation is dependent on the primary air
    requirement so, the burner with minimum primary
    air requirement; is considered as a better burner

  4. It also plays an important role on the life of kiln
    refractory


We had discussed in detail with all suppliers for consideration
of low-pressure compressors instead of blowers for primary
air requirement which shall enable in further reducing the
