NOX Guarantee

As the government norms are getting stringent day by day
and presently the norms suggest that NOX emissions shall
not be more than 600 mg/Nm^3. We had a detailed discussion
on the latest technologies available and advancements in
the systems so that without the use of SNCR we could
achieve the emission norms, as the operation cost impact
of ammonia consumption is approximately Rs 3.5 lakhs/
year for reduction of 1 mg/Nm^3. Thereby we had a very
serious round of discussions with all technology suppliers
for upgrading their technologies so that SNCR could be
avoided. Though M/s Thyssenkrupp India Limited was
reluctant to guarantee the NOX emission <600 mg/Nm^3
without SNCR, they agreed to carry out R&D and come
up with a positive solution in the future.
Our team had discussed with and convinced suppliers
that if the supplier could have pre-conditions for
performing and calculating the Performance Guarantee
(PG) parameters, the buyers could have a few too. Not even
one supplier agreed to the same, but we kept on discussing
with them technically. Finally, few of them had agreed to
keep all our pre-conditions as indicative parameters in the
PG document. If there is any change in these parameters,
