Preface
I have been associated with the cement
industry right since I completed my
engineering and I have worked in
project planning, execution, operations
and maintenance, manufacturing, and
technical services. It had been my dream
to set up a state-of-the-art cement plant with minimum
execution time from ordering among similar plant sizes in
the industry across the globe, with improved operational
reliability, efficiency, environment-friendly operations, and
productivity at minimum cost plus more automation.
This project would be unique in the industry with better
reliability in terms of maintenance, environment-friendly
operations, lowest energy consumption in terms of fuel
and power, and maximum productivity. This project would
produce green cement with a minimum carbon footprint
to strengthen our vision of remaining the greenest cement
manufacturer.
With this objective, my team conceptualized, engineered,
executed, and commissioned Dalmia DSP Unit I. This book
gives a glimpse of our journey at Rajgangpur, Sundargarh
district, Odisha.
