were 400 hp capacity which were engaged in existing
plant logistic requirements. As per the requirement of
the original layout, budget provision for new locos was
not considered in the project budget. However, as per
inputs provided by the plant logistics team for new rail
alignment, a need was assessed to procure two additional
800 hp locos for the Dalmia DSP clinker unit to facilitate
the clinker loading of two additional rakes per day from
the new plant.
The railway siding envisaged for the project was
impacting few existing facilities in the refractory area.
The same was explained and discussed in detail with the
refractory team. Dalmia refractory team indicated the
changes and augmentation required in the refractory plant
area to accommodate siding. The resulting scope changes
and the budget impact was incorporated in the project
with management approval. All such changes in overall
project scheme were carried out at great pace involving
all stakeholders which in the case of railway siding needed
great synergy and detailing.
Simultaneously, environment clearance for plant was
received in February 2018 and it was in process for mines.
Based on approval it was decided to start preparatory work
like tree removal and transplantation, making approach
road, etc. In the last week of May 2018, area clearing started
with Puja. Some of the tree species were transplanted in
consultation with the forest department and some wild
species were removed. Site grading work was taken up
along with approach road.
