batching plants, fabrication yards, kiln and mill areas,
worker housing, etc. – were arranged for adequate power
availability for construction works.
Construction water was arranged from the existing
facility. Water recycled from the DCBL treatment plant was
used for civil construction.
A huge deployment of plant and machinery – to
name a few major ones – four batching plants (one M1,
three CP-30), 15 transit mixers, four boom placers and
six pumps to ensure reliable and uninterrupted supply of
concrete at every pour point – was put in place. Among
lifting equipment, two major tower cranes (one of 25 T and
another 10 T) at pre-heater, one at RABH and one at TG
Building, were put into service for timely completion of all
these major structures. In addition, one mobile tower crane
and two cranes were mobilized.
A tangible plan for construction was framed keeping
in view the contract agreed and mobilization of resources.
It was made imperative to the agencies to mobilize all the
agreed resources. The availability of manpower, material,
shuttering, staging, and machinery resources were
proportioned and customized as per project schedule
requirements and planning.
As planned, so executed would be a fitting catchphrase
that would define the success of timely completion of all
the structures. Stringent control on execution and cover-up
of backlog, if and as soon as it occurs, marked the essence
of monitoring of the project. Periodic meetings/discussion
