On 7 March 2019 at 05:00 am, we were informed that the
first consignment (two trucks) had reached Liploi Main
Road Junction and the trucks were unable to enter the plant
approach road due to fouling with street light pole while
turning. The mechanical and electrical teams immediately
rushed to the spot and observed that the vehicle could not
turn due to the boundary wall with an embedded tree on
the other side. During the initial survey, the road width was
measured as 7 m which was found sufficient for turning of
long-bed trailers; however, the extended kiln shells over the
trailer bed was not envisaged.
Fouling of truck while entering the approach road and further
survey for boundary wall removalThe brainstorming began and various turning combinations
were tried and finally, it was decided to remove one street-
light pole fouling in the new path and break the boundary
wall and preparation/extension of the road at turning
location.
