Dalmia DSP Success Story

(Project Pridr) #1

KILN ERECTION 85

With the finalization of layout, considering land
constraints, limestone crusher, wagon loading, and railway
siding works were started in May 2019.
Refractory application also started in May 2019. There
was a space constraint in terms of covered storage for a
huge amount of refractory material, inadequate release on
equipment front for application, labour shortage and heavy
rain. After discussion, more manpower was arranged from
additional resources and the works distributed among them
for timely finish.
MD & CEO paid a visit to the Rajgangpur site on 4 June
2019 and praised the team for their achievements. Despite
heavy rains and waterlogging, the visit was a great success
and the project team was motivated and energized to speed
up the work.
Alongside mechanical jobs, E&I work was also
progressing in load centres and refractory works in pre-
heater started on 15 June 2019.
During testing of distribution and converter duty
transformers across all load centres, four transformers were
found unhealthy for material handling, raw mill, coal mill,
and cooler fans-related drives. Transformer oil strength
was not increased during filtration and it was observed that
inside transformer tanks there was water ingress in huge
quantity and there was no option left with us but to send
the transformers to OEM’s works, Vadodara, for repair.
Looking to the urgency and quantum of work, our project
head visited their workshop and with his intervention all
the transformers were ready and delivered at the site within
