beige linen 2^1 ⁄ 2 × 121 ⁄ 2 " rectangles
to short edges of pink-and-green
floral 12^1 ⁄ 2 × 161 ⁄ 2 " rectangle. Add a
beige linen 2^1 ⁄ 2 × 201 ⁄ 2 " rectangle to top
edge to make bag back. The bag back
should be 20^1 ⁄ 2 × 141 ⁄ 2 " including seam
allowances.


ASSEMBLE BAG BODY

Referring to Diagram 7, center and
sew beige linen 4^1 ⁄ 2 × 161 ⁄ 2 " rectangle
to bottom edges of bag front and
bag back.

Sew together rectangle units to
make a block (Diagram 3). The
block should be 4^1 ⁄ 2 " square including
seam allowances.

Repeat steps 2–4 to make 12
blocks total.

Referring to Diagram 4, lay out
blocks in three rows, rotating
every other block 90°. Sew together
blocks in rows. Join rows to make
center unit. The unit should be
