segment orientation, sew together
two H segments and one I segment
to make a sashing strip. The strip
should be 3^1 ⁄ 2 × 691 ⁄ 2 " including seam
allowances. Repeat to make a second
sashing strip.

Diagram for segment and block
orientation, lay out blocks, segments G
and J, and sashing strips in five rows.
Sew together pieces in block rows.
Press seams toward G and J segments.
Join rows to make quilt center. Press
seams toward sashing strips. The
quilt center should be 69^1 ⁄ 2 " square
including seam allowances.
