Align marked red print 3^1 ⁄ 2 "
squares with opposite corners of a
cream print 6^1 ⁄ 2 " square (Diagram 11;
note direction of marked lines). Sew on
marked lines. Trim seam allowances
to^1 ⁄ 4 ". Press open attached triangles.
Align marked red print 3^1 ⁄ 2 " squares
with remaining corners of cream
print square. Stitch, trim, and press as
before to make a Square-in-a-Square
unit. The unit still should be 6^1 ⁄ 2 "
square including seam allowances.
Repeat to make 12 Square-in-a-Square
units total.

Referring to Diagram 12, lay out
two red large triangle-squares,
four side units, one Square-in-a-
Square unit, and two cream large
triangle-squares in three rows. Sew
together pieces in rows. Join rows
to make Block B. The block should
be 12^1 ⁄ 2 " square including seam
allowances. Repeat to make eight
B blocks total.
