ASSEMBLE A BLOCKS

Measurements include^1 ⁄ 4 " seam
allowances. Sew with right sides
together unless otherwise stated.
Press seams in directions indicated
by arrows on diagrams. If no direction
is specified, press seam toward darker
fabric.

Referring to Diagram 1, fold a
green floral A piece in half with
right side inside; align long edges and
finger-press fold. Stitch^1 ⁄ 4 " from wide
edges. Clip corner, being careful not to
cut stitching line.

Turn Step 1 unit right side out;
use a stiletto to push out point.
Place unit right side down on pressing
surface. Using crease to center
the point, finger-press seam open.
Press point flat to make Wedge 1
(Diagram 2).

Repeat steps 1 and 2 to make 25
total of Wedge 1.

Using teal floral, cream large
floral, teal print, and pink
butterfly print A pieces, repeat steps 1
and 2 to make 25 each of wedges 2–5
(Diagram 3).

Referring to Diagram 4, align
long edges of wedges 1 and 2; sew
together. In the same manner, add one
each of wedges 3–5 to make a fan unit
(Diagram 5). Repeat to make 25 fan
units total.
