CUT FABRICS
Cut pieces in the following order.
Designer Jen Shaffer prefers to
make Flying Geese units and triangle-
squares larger than necessary and
trim them to size. To use this method,
cut 4" and 7^1 ∕ 2 " squares instead of the
37 ∕ 8 " and 7^1 ∕ 4 " squares listed in cutting
instructions.
From white tone-on-tone, cut:
▫ 2—23^7 ∕ 8 " squares, cutting each
diagonally twice in an X for
8 setting triangles total
▫ 2—12^1 ∕ 4 " squares, cutting each in half
diagonally for 4 corner triangles
total
▫ 104—3^7 ∕ 8 " squares
▫ 52—2^1 ∕ 2 " squares
From aqua tone-on-tone, cut:
▫ 13—7^1 ∕ 4 " squares
▫ 52—3^7 ∕ 8 " squares
▫ 52—2^1 ∕ 2 × 61 ∕ 2 " rectangles
▫ 104—2^1 ∕ 2 × 31 ∕ 2 " rectangles
From teal print, cut:
▫ 7—2^1 ∕ 2 ×42" binding strips
ASSEMBLE BLOCKS
Measurements include^1 ∕ 4 " seam
allowances. Sew with right sides
together unless otherwise stated.
Press seams in directions indicated
by arrows on diagrams. If no direction
is specified, press seam toward darker
fabric.
