After Athletics' innovative success, many Major League team front
offices showed interest in Athletics’ managing strategies. Michael Lewis
published a bestseller book called “Moneyball” about this story. Beane’s
method using sabermetrics has become immensely popular in the field of
baseball. In 2003, Boston Redsox recruited professional sabermetrician,
Theo Epstein, as a general manager, and won a world series
championship in 2004, for the first time after 1918. Epstein made
another championship in 2007 and transferred to Chicago Cubs in 2011.
In 2016 Epstein also contributed to the Cub’s first world series
championship after 1908.​^13


Today, it has been very common for baseball teams and fans to actively
use sabermetrics to evaluate their players. Every team hires a data analyst
to increase their win percentage in their matches, and there are different
websites full of statistics provided to normal people for free.
