feel. And thanks to the heat from the open fire, Annabel and her
family and friends can enjoy sitting out here from early spring right
through until late autumn.
The 18th-century cart sheds, which became stables in the early
20th century, now form Annabel’s artist’s studio. Since her children
have grown up and left home, she now devotes much of her time
to painting local landscapes and still lifes in oil and charcoal. ‘I
love painting the nearby scenery, especially the sheep,’ she laughs.
‘I really couldn’t have a more inspiring location.’
