Wereceivedquitea responsetorecentstoriesandour
editor's letters about children and camping.
Most of the comments were readers agreeing on how
good the outdoors is for kids, or sharing memories of
themselves camping in their youth.
But there was one reader who also told us how shocked
he was to read about resorts that do not allow persons
under the age of 18.
We want to know how you feel about resorts that do not
allow children – would you support such a campsite, do you
think there needs to be more of them, would you never visit
such a place, or do you just not care?

Did not even no such places exist, but I think it has
a place for those that need silence.

That’s ridiculous...camping will not be the
same without kids running around...it just creates
a vibe. If people don’t want kids around and want peace
and quiet then stay at home. Or look for a site that is
secluded and quiet.

I'd prefer grumpy old whingers be omitted and
let kids in.

Some campsites especially for kids and families
and some only for adults. I would love to visit the
quiteones.

It is the resort / business owner's choice,
not the campers.
There are actually people out there who actually need a
break from noisy children.

Stupid, but moms and dads let their kids loose on
a resort and then they don't let kids volume down,
and that is why resorts make this happen. Kids need to be
disciplined at camping sites and need to consider other
campers as well.

Those camp sites must have warning signs
NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 70 then
I'lltotally understand

There is a huge amount of retired permanent
campers today. Because retirement homes are
simply too expensive and not suitable for oldies who are still
healthy and enjoy camping. I am sure they will enjoy this.

I've been to a campsite for adults only and it's
absolute bliss. No screaming kids running around
or noisy black bikes to wake you up in the mornings. I think

no kids under 18. However, it would be pet friendly. There
needs to be MORE pet friendly campsites.

And how can there be future nature lovers and campers
without teaching children from a small age what to
appreciate in life? Children are part of the joy in camping!

I do believe that even stooges have the right to enjoy
camping and we don't have the right to prevent them doing

campsite will ever survive in SA I cannot guess.
