AUssIesAIMInG FORsA MARKeT?
Caravan and Outdoor Life
received a phone call all
the way from Australia,
inquiring about the
possibility of exporting
caravans to South Africa.
The interested party on
the other end of the line
was from a manufacturer
called Black Series, who
have been in production
for 13 years.
Jack Qiu from Black
Series told us: “We are
looking for an exclusive
distributor in South Africa.
“We think our product
will do very well here,
since South Africa is big in
off-road. It seems a good
time for us to get into
the market – we have the
ability to manufacture over
30 caravans just for the
South African market.
“We can assist in
unloading and assembling
of the product if need be.
“Anyone interested
please contact me directly
for further discussions.”
Black Series is originally
from Australia, and in
2016 Black Series US
opened. The next year
they expanded to New
Zealand, China, Japan,
Katar and the Mid East.
Black Series EU is planned
to open in 2019, turning
what was a family business
into a global franchise.

It’s amazing how a small design
change can make a huge
difference with a caravan. And
one of the latest upgrades at
Bush Lapa really proves this.
The proudly South African
manufacturer has replaced
the hinged roof of their Kewer
caravan with a full pop-up.
While the original design
was by no means a bad one,
the new pop-up roof adds a
finishing touch to an already
excellent product.
Bush Lapa’s Marketing head
Jeanine Malherbe tells Caravan
& Outdoor Life: “The new pop-
up roof of the Kewer provides
campers with a lot more space
inside. It also makes it more
convenient when using the
bed, since you don’t need to
crawl in – you can use the bed
easily and without effort.
“The new roof has already
drawn a lot of attention from
interested buyers, as well as
existing Bush Lapa owners.
“We are very happy with the
feedback we have received so far.”
