Our 150 HP version was surprisingly
agile, it will do zero to 100 km/h in
26 seconds – and remember it has a
GVM of 3.5 tons!
This motorhome likes to cruise
anywhere between 90 and 120 km/h, and
is governed to not more than 135 km/h.
In places such as low speed limited game
parks the engine torque is happy bumbling
along in fourth gear and doing 1 300
revs per minute, and quickly picks up for
overtaking. In 6th gear it does 100 km/h
at a low 2 000 r/min.
Bearing in mind that this Iveco-base
vehicle is designed to do 100 000 km a year
delivery duty in Europe it is very under-
stressed for use as a motorhome. It carries
a 100 000 km warranty on the body and
200 000 km warranty on the drive train.
Cost price, at the time of writing, for the
base vehicle starts at R1 196 000.
The Discoverer version 4 is certainly
both a very drivable and liveable package,
not too big and certainly not too small
in dimensions.
