top tips

Whitewall’s
Product Manager,
Jan-Ole Schmidt,
reveals his top
tips for displaying
your framed photographs

1

The Statement Piece
This is one picture hung alone,
and can be effective in small rooms
or in a nook.

2

The Wall Art Cluster
Think of it like organised chaos.
It is an arrangement of numerous,
tightly grouped pictures on one wall.
The pictures should be ‘connected’
in some way.

3

On an Axis
This picture-hanging concept is a
classic and is also great in rooms with
low ceilings. Simply align the centre of
each picture along an imaginary axis.

4

All in a Row
Hang pictures evenly in a horizontal
or vertical line. If you have pictures of
different sizes, but would still like to hang
them in a row, you can align them along
one of the frame’s edges.

5

The Chessboard
A clear geometric concept for
presenting pictures of the same size.
They are hung above and next to each
other, with even gaps on all sides.

6

Making Shapes
Sometimes you might want to
arrange various pictures within the
confines of an imaginary geometric
shape. This could be a circle or a
diagonal line spanning your whole wall.

7

Leaning Pictures
Leaning pictures against the wall is
an out-of-the-ordinary and relaxed way
to display them. Pictures along the floor
will need to attract attention or else
they’ll get overlooked.

8

Picture Shelves
You can also use shelves to lean
your pictures. This gives the wall a
sense of structure.

9

The Split Image
One image, but split into multiple
pieces. The pieces should be hung in
a row, not too far apart and with the
edges level. At WhiteWall, we offer an
image-splitting function that can split
your picture into four individual pieces.

all acrylic prints (and any other
WhiteWall products) an integrated
hanging system is secured to the
back. Size and glass thickness varies
across the products from 2mm,
4mm and 6mm, and image sizes
range from 10x10cm images to
180x120cm, or even up to 270 x
180cm (with the 2mm option).

Metal prints
If you’re after something unique,
then WhiteWall’s metal and
aluminium prints are quite
something else. With various
options from mounting your
image onto aluminium with a
UV-protective surface, to your
image actually being printed onto
the metal surface itself (brushed or
aluminium dibond), there’s plenty
to choose from. The latter won’t
suit every image, but if your
photograph has the right
monochromatic finish or bold large
areas of colour it will look stunning.
This product is good for both inside
or outside use. If you have a custom
or specific need, speak to one of the
advisors at WhiteWall who are
available via email or at the end
of a phone ready to help.

Framed prints
If you want something more
traditional for your photograph or
an advanced frame solution then
navigate to WhiteWall’s ‘Framed

Prints’ section. Here you’ll find
a variety of products, from the
popular Floater frames to
Aluminium Artboxes, Solid Wood
Artboxes, Acrylic Box frames and
Gallery frames, just to name a
few. It’s worth spending some
time looking through all the
products here to ensure you
make the right choice.

Canvas prints
Finally, WhiteWall’s canvas prints
are the perfect choice for those
who want a simple presentation
solution. Canvases come in a
matte, glossy or textile finish,
with the option to mirror your
image around the edge of the
frame or wrap. Mirrored edges
are recommended for pictures
that can’t afford to have any part
of the picture missing, whereas
wrap continues the image all
around the side (3-5cm).
