the problem, it is nearly impossible to catch up on the bone loss.
There will always—or at least for years—be a region of low
bone density at these locations. For this reason, a follow up X-
ray or bone scan can never be expected to appear totally normal.
But the hot spots will be gone and former lesions that were
small can disappear, leaving only the evidence of former severe
bone lesions.
