COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Lockdown has provided some much
needed time to have a good sort through
my yarn stash, and use up some spare
skeins on a special project. Here are some
of my ‘Thank you NHS’ bears.
Margaret Scanlon, via email
It’s lovely to see the
community knitting
that has been going on
recently. Your bears are
beautiful, and I love the
pretty pastel shades!

SAY HELLO!

MAGICAL MOSAIC
I thought you might like to see my version
of the mosaic cardigan in issue 199, by Siân
Brown. The style was just right, but I wanted
a shorter sleeve length. I also decided to
leave out the mosaic border and replaced
this with the Lace Teardrop pattern from
the back of the same issue. I decided to
use DROPS Cotton Merino, which is really
lovely and easy to knit with. I’m rather
pleased with the end result! Thank you for
an excellent magazine, which I look forward
to every month!
Janet Yates, Nottinghamshire
Your cardigan is stunning, Janet. I’m
impressed with how you transposed
both designs to create this pretty pastel
project – it looks perfect for spring!

pink cardigan is
very versatile

COSY KITTIE
I saw a lovely cat hat pattern in a magazine
a few years ago that I knitted for my cat,
Judy. Doesn’t she look sweet? I liked this
pattern because it was cute and unique. I
thought it would keep Judy’s head warm
when going to the vet in her basket during
colder months. I intend to knit another hat
in Alpaca yarn. The pattern was easy to knit

  • it’s garter stitch with two holes for ears,
with crochet straps. I used pink and white
    Peaches and Cream cotton yarn.
    Orysia aka Kniterella, via email
Judy looks super-snug in her hat!

this hat to
keep Judy nice
and warm
